I bought these boots in preparation for a ski trip to Utah. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on snow boots for just 1 trip, and I scoured all the local stores trying to find something that fit the bill. Well nothing locally fit the bill so I turned to Amazon (as one does) for boots.
I really wanted a boot that wasn't too booty but not too shoey either. I wanted something warm, dry, lightweight and good looking. I found these boots and thought i would give them a try. Here is what I found in my real world experience.
Build quality: The boot is very sturdy, surprising for how lightweight it is. The back is solid enough you can slip your foot in the already tied boot without the rear collapsing on you. The eyelets and loop straps are solid too. The bottom of the boot is hard rubber with about a half inch of grip/tread.
Grip: I was really impressed at how well these shoes gripped in all conditions. In hard packed snow, the rubber pierced the hard snow enough to give me good grip. In light snow they traced well, and even in slushy sidewalks they did great!
Warmth, dryness and comfort: So I planned on wearing these boots while snow tubing. I did and my feet NEVER got cold or wet. It was great! Later in the trip I was walking around in tennis shoes and my toes were blue; I decided to put my boots on to keep my feet warm. No regrets there! My feet stayed warm and dry. Plus I did a snow hike in these and for 5+ miles of hiking my feet never hurt, they always felt sturdy and supportive.
While I really thought these boots would just be a short term solution, I love them so much that I will absolutely be wearing them back home on cold days, snowy days when we do our 5 mile daily walks. Cant say enough good things about these shoes and their price point.
